Like any alumni network, the OUT Foundation strives to build an inclusive community that enriches the lives of its membership. We hold different alumni gatherings in multiple cities over the course of the year and host an annual event and grant awards ceremony. Alumni gatherings include New York City, San Francisco, and Salt Lake and Utah County, with many more in the works.
MENTORSHIP & NETWORKING
For many LGBTQ+ students attending Brigham Young University, the future can often feel uncertain. Most college students struggle at some point to decide what their futures will look like, but LGBTQ+ BYU students often navigate this decision while also undergoing hugely transformative redefinitions of faith, identity, sexuality, and in some cases, even family. LGBTQ+ alumni have many insights that could be helpful to current students, especially in instances where alumni and current students share a professional field and can help one another network.
To facilitate alumni interaction with current students, the OUT Foundation sponsors networking events, professional mentorships, and workshops focused on career and professional development.
If you are a current student seeking mentorship from an LGBTQ+ alumni in your field of study, please fill out the form below. While the OUT Foundation cannot guarantee a mentor in your specific discipline, we will check our alumni database for viable professional mentorship options.
